Squid Synchronization - Create Mode

In Create mode, we use a registerVirtualPurseWithPersoData web service method send person's MIS User ID as Card Holder Reference Number (highlighted in the screenshot) to Squid. This method registers the person in Squid, creates cards and purses for them and responds back to us with those cards and purses, which we save in our system.

The Card Holder Reference Number is the only field available for a person's unique identifier. Neither this, nor other web service methods currently do not provide any field to specify External Reference from our side.

This means that if the person is created in Squid using Create mode, and you switch to Retrieve mode, then that person will not be able to match, because Retrieve mode uses External Reference for matching. External Reference and Card Holder Reference are different fields.
